Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Known originally as the Winnipeg Rugby-Football Club, the Blue Bombers began life in Canada’s Gateway to the West in 1930, and they have appeared in more Grey Cup contests than any other team. This lot contains not one, or two… but three Winnipeg Blue Bombers jerseys. 1) Miles Gorell’s 1995 Winnipeg Blue Bombers game-worn jersey. Starter tagging with velcro patch is affixed to the collar, with an additional Starter patch and year swatch on the lower front. Styled with screened-on numbers and name-on-nameplate, the mesh jersey also sports an embroidered CFL logo along the neckline and 1995 125th Manitoba anniversary patch over the right breast. With just light wear present, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. 2) Steve Grant’s early-1990s Winnipeg Blue Bombers game-worn jersey. Five team repairs on the right shoulder include a big one between the blue and gold heat-screened vinyl numbers, which display good burns. Five sewing fixes on the left shoulder, too, and five more on the front of this gamer with a nameplate change. Speedline Athletic Wear size XL manufacturer’s tagging sewn on the left front tail has the defensive lineman’s number 54 written on it in black marker. Red paint transfer on the front of the right shoulder and blue paint transfer on the upper left sleeve. Gold and blue bands on the sleeves are heat-screened vinyl which has worn and cracked a bit with some vinyl loss on the back of the left sleeve. 3) 2007 Winnipeg Blue Bombers #94 third jersey. A year/size swatch of “06-48” sits affixed to the collar, with a CFL Reebok patch with handwritten “94” on the lower front. Styled with tackle twill numbers, there is also an embroidered CFL crest over the front neckline and Rona patch above the right breast. The team patch stating “Game Worn – 2007” sits on the inside hem, and there are matching “W” crests over each shoulder. We should note that we can find no one wearing #94 in 2007. With tagging along the collar that mentions 06-48 for year 2006 and size 48, the jersey could possibly be recycled from the previous season. In 2006, Ron Warner wore the #94 jersey.
