Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The 1987 Canada Cup competition will go down as one of the most memorable tournaments in international hockey history. Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux combined to give Canada the title on Lemieux's winning goal. Originally from the collection of Team Canada hockey writer Glen Cole, we have a 1987 Canada Cup trophy plaque. A silver half maple leaf is mounted on a brown wooden base with affixed centralized metal plate along bottom stating "Coupe Canada Cup". A Canada Cup award that is seldom offered for public auction, this one is in very good condition with just a few unobtrusive marks and scratches on the lower section.
