This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Selected first overall at the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft, defenceman Rick Green spent the majority of his career split between Montreal and Washington, with a Stanley Cup championship won with the Habs in 1986. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the Belleville native in the late-1980s, circa 1987-89. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar along with an embroidered CCM crest over the reverse bottom hem, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 56. Styled with the iconic CH team crest constructed entirely of layered tackle twill, “5” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Green” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Nice game-use is exhibited on the garment, with burns over the front band and left sleeve, with small slits over each upper sleeve. There is also some pilling to the interior, with team repairs over the front (2) and sleeves (3).
