Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Sharing similarities with the famous red and white mask donned by recent HOF inductee Jim Rutherford during his days in Detroit, and utilizing the sport’s greatest traditional iconography with a pair of majestic wings, this vintage 1970s goal mask was produced by Jacques Plante’s noteworthy Fibrosport company. Adult size at a full 12” from top to chin and finished in solid red with white wings at each side along with additional thick white accents including “14” over the forehead, the interior Styrofoam padding is period but not original, with the current straps also a period replacement, with the top section affixed with threading. Sporting moderate use, there are marks to the surface along with a few minor chips, with no cracks or obtrusive damage.
