This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
From Markham, Ont, a city within the Greater Toronto Area, is this cool collection of 7 vintage hockey sweaters and jackets that include 2 team jackets from the 1950s, 3 jerseys from the late-1940s early-1950s jerseys that include a Millionaires and Aces examples, a 1952-53 Senior Champs cardigan sweater, and a circa 1970s Markham Millionaires jersey. Sweet, especially for those from the Markham area and vintage jersey collectors in general.
A closer look shows a leather jacket with a “Perfect Leather Garment, Toronto” patch in the collar along with a size “42” flap, with a chenille “Markham Millionaires” crest sewn on the left breast, and in good, albeit slightly aged condition. A cloth jacket has the legendary “Doug Laurie, Maple Leaf Gardens” patch in the collar, along with a size “42” flap, and displays a chenille “Markham 53-54 O.R.H.A. SR. Champs” patch on the front and chenille #9 on the sleeve. It remains in good condition with some fraying to the wool cuffs. A late-40s, early-50s wool jersey has a felt “M” crest with “Aces” across it, has a laced neck minus the laces, and shows a series of holes throughout where moths had dinner. On the back is a felt number “10” and “Skelton’s Esso”. Another jersey from that era has a felt “M” on the front, number “2” on the back, and has numerous holes repaired throughout. The third jersey from the late ‘40s/early-50s has a felt “M” with a red dollar sign, while on the back is a felt “9”. This jersey remains in nice shape with a minimum of repaired holes. The green cardigan sweater displays a chenille “Markham 52-53 O.R.H.A.Sr. Champs and has a Doug Laurie, Maple Leaf Gardens patch in the collar. The moths have had some fun with this one too. And finally, a tie-neck jersey from the 1970s, tagged in the collar as”Maska”, that has felt “Markham Millionaires” lettering heat pressed on, a cloth number “7” sewn on the back, and is in nice condition with a faint stains in places.
