Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
From an elderly gent who lived near the Cherry Hill rink where the WHA New Jersey Knights played during the 1973-74 season comes this great Cooper blocker and trapper that was purchased as belonging to Knights goaltender Joe Junkin, who not only played two years in the WHA and several years with various minor league, but also played a total of eight minutes with the Boston Bruins, giving new meaning to the phrase “a cup of coffee in the bigs”. The blocker has seen lots of action, with a plethora of palm holes and game marks throughout, while the trapper is in better shape but still well-used with lots of game evidence, and slightly stiff leather. All laces on both gloves are complete and intact. A nice set of vintage goalie gamers from a fellow who toiled with the Knights, the San Diego Mariners, Hershey Bears, Oklahoma City Blazers, and a host of others.
