Nice vintage lot of 38 Canadian Hockey Exhibit Cards from 1948 to 1952 measuring 3 ¼” x 5 ¼” and featuring the likes of the Rocket, McNeil, Moore, St. Laurent, Harvey, Reardon, Johnson, Bouchard, Laycoe, Meger, Olmstead, Mosdell, Reay, Lach, Blake, Abel, Howe, Broda, Rollins, Barilko, Thomson, Mortson, Max and Doug Bentley, Gardner, Keenedy, Meeker, Smith, Sloan, Gelineau, and some action cards. Most of these cards have a previous owner's handwritten name on each, and the backs of the cards with glue and paper residue show that they were once in a scrapbook. From the 1950s are 5 Habs black and whites measuring 3 ½” x 5 ½” and include Harvey, Plante, Johnson, Turner, and Talbot. Four of these cards have the names handwritten on, but aren’t the players’ signatures, with Turner having his facsimile autograph. We also have 2 J.D. McCarthy postcards measuring 3 ¼” x 5 ½”, with Claude Laforge signing his in clear blue ballpoint pen and Pete Goegan also signing in clear blue pen as “To Gerry Best Wishes Pete Goegan”. Lastly is a 3 ¼” x 5” b&w of Eddie Litzenberger, with a fan writing Litzenberger’s name on the top border.
