Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Historic Calgary Flames captain's jersey was worn by HOFer Lanny McDonald during his remarkable final NHL season in 1988-89, a campaign that saw the mustachioed legend score his 500th goal, record his 1,000th point, and hoist the Stanley Cup! Lanny and Jim Peplinski were co-captains during McDonald's final two season, which explains the hastily sewn-on "C" in red and yellow double twill on the left breast that was on and off his exquisite 1988-89 Flames game-worn jersey. Lanny's retired No. 9 is sewn on the back and both sleeves and the CCM logo on the right tail is all white with red lettering and outline. The fight strap is whole and the Maska flag tag in the neck has a black marker "O" with an "X" through it. Game wear includes board burns on the left shoulder, one with a small unrepaired slit, black marks on the front tail and right cuff, sweat stains at the cuffs and on the upper front around the neck, and a diagonal black mark on the inner edge of the upper right part of the Flaming C crest sewn on the front. Comes with Lanny McDonald's signed LOA.
