Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

From the mid to late-1970s Erie Blades of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) comes this fine-looking game-worn jersey with an abundance of game-wear. Tagged in the collar as a size “M”, this white with orange and black trim jersey features the partially-embroidered Blades team crest sewn on the front, with the orange and black tackle twill number “22” sewn on the back and on both arms, showing that this gamer could very well be the one worn by Paul Sheard, who owned number 22 in 1975-76 and possible during the ’76-’77 campaign. This gamer has a substantial amount of marks scattered about, along with red paint transfer on the left sleeve. Pilling is also evident in places. But the major game-wear is found in the number of unrepaired holes on the sleeves, with approximately 7 on one sleeve and 8 on the other. A few stains are to note as well, along with some puckering on the numbers. The Erie Blades played in the NAHL in 1975-76 (their inaugural season) and 1976-77, in the NEHL in 1978-79, and in the EHL in 1979-80 and 1980-81.
