Historic Mario Lemieux 1991-92 Pittsburgh Penguins game-worn Jofa helmet is photo-matched to the 1992 Stanley Cup finals! Mario Le Magnifique began wearing this type of Jofa helmet in 1991-92 and he continued to wear this one for several more seasons, through 1993-94 and beyond. This great game-worn lid saw duty when Mario hoisted won his second Stanley Cup and on through his incredible and emotional 1992-93 season, when he recorded 160 points despite being limited to 60 games while he battled cancer. The helmet shows great game wear and is photo-matched to marks to the white paint on the "Jofa" logo on the front. The missing paint at the top of the dot that makes up the upper part of the "J" clearly shows in a photo of Mario getting ready to take a faceoff against Chicago in the 1992 finals, as does the distinctive mark on the bottom left of the "O" to its right. These two exact marks also show on Lemieux's 1994-95 Parkhurst Parkie's Best hockey card. Two more photos of Lemieux wearing this helmet show the distinctive L-shaped scratch mark to the left of the JOFA logo on the left side of the helmet. Mario's legendary "66" is written in black marker on the inner padding and appears in decals on the back. The chin strap and its ear attachments are no longer present, and there is a crack on the back of the right side at the ear. A one-of-a-kind opportunity for Lemieux faithful that comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
