Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Nice minor league offering once donned by forward Michel Plante who skated three seasons (1974-'77) with the NAHL Philadelphia Firebirds after a couple of campaigns in the WHA. The gamer has a "Size L" tag in the collar and includes great game-wear, with 5 team repairs top to bottom on the left sleeve, a couple more on the right sleeve, a few more on the back, including on the nameplate, and yet another above the hem on the front. Both sleeves show many unrepaired holes scattered about, with several unrepaired holes on the front and back. And of course we see numerous marks everywhere. A great gamer that saw hard-core front-line duty! This stretchy knit jersey also features a garter sewn in to act as a fight strap, and there is evidence of a removed alternate captain's "A" on the breast. The Firebirds were a farm club for the Philadelphia Flyers, and in 1975-76 the team captured the league's championship trophy, the Lockhart Cup, with Michel Plante scoring 52 goals along the way.
