Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Terrific and intriquing 1972 Canada-Russia Series memorabilia is from Game 3, played September 6th in Winnipeg, with Bobby Hull in attendance and autographing the inside cover in blue ballpoint. Hull had signed with the Winnipeg Jets some two months earlier and was not allowed to play in the series, forever prompting "what if" thoughts among hockey observers. Some cover staining and a half-inch tear in the cover are to note, with the 48-page official program joined by the original owner's ticket. Multiple light creases are to mention along with a recap: Canada led 3-1 and 4-2 but two shorthanded goals helped the Soviets earn a 4-4 tie.
