Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

The legendary Eddie Shore, a brilliant rushing defenseman with a serious mean streak, the greatest Bruins d-man until Bobby Orr came along, a HOFer, and a cantankerous owner of the AHL Springfield Indians, has signed this sensational vintage 8" x 10" photo of himself decked out in suit and tie, with his autograph a clear vintage signature signed "Eddie Shore" in blue ink pen. The vintage photo is in excellent condition, with sharp edges and corners, with a very faint crease to note in the upper left corner. A beautifully-signed photo from one of the greatest defensemen of all time. Shore, inducted into the HOF in 1947, saw his share of headlines. He was involved in the infamous Shore/Bailey stick swinging incident that saw Ace Bailey's career ended, and throughout his career he wore a path to the penalty box. Shore was flamboyant, loved to rush with the puck, had an abnormal mean streak on the ice, and as owner of the AHL Springield Indians, had his players do such well-documented off-ice tasks such as selling popcorn and blowing up balloons. Mutiny was in the air often when Shore was running the show. Shore played 14 seasons in the NHL, and would pass away on March 16, 1985 at the age of 82.
