Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Russian superstar Ilya Kovalchuk lit up NHL goalies throughout the 2000s for the ill-fated Atlanta Thrashers. A Maurice Richard Trophy winner in 2003-04, Ilya enjoyed two 52-goal seasons in Atlanta. He had four more 40-goal campaigns with the Thrashers, scoring 328 goals in 594 games with Atlanta from 2001-02 until he was traded to New Jersey on February 4, 2010. Offered are Ilya’s Warrior game-issued gloves in Thrashers navy blue. “Kovalchuk” is embroidered in golden yellow thread on the front cuff padding of both gloves, the team color matching the “Warrior” manufacturer’s name screened on the front of these fantastic lightweight fabric gloves. There are a couple of small red paint stains on the back of the right glove’s cuff, otherwise these sniper’s beauties are like new and all set for display.
