Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Trio of game-used sticks from Steve Ludzik's personal collection were wielded by three of modern hockey's greatest goaltenders: Martin Brodeur, Dominik Hasek and newly-minted HOFer Ed Belfour. All-time games, wins and shutouts leader Brodeur and the Dominator, who won consecutive Hart Trophies in the late 1990s, are sure to follow Eddie the Eagle into the Hall. Please see our website description for more information about this lot, which comes with Steve Ludzik's signed LOA. “M. Brodeur” and “18 Apr. 1997” date stamp appear on the front of Brodeur’s game-used Heaton goalie stick with an autograph dedicated “To Ryan” in silver paint pen on the black tape job across the blade. “Bost.” is written in black marker across the front of Brodeur’s white tape knob;
Hasek signed in black marker on the bare space on the front of the blade at the heel between the Dominator’s two white tape jobs. “Hasek” is stamped high on the shaft of the Bauer stick in Sabres white, black and red colors, which retains Dom’s nicely-worn white tape knob;
Belfour also dedicated his autograph “To Ryan” on the now-bare blade of his Bauer stick in Dallas Stars colors. “E. Belfour” is stamped high on the shaft which retains Eddie’s white tape knob. [red]Addendum; Take notice that the tape job on the Hasek stick is different than the one usually seen on Hasek sticks from that era so the stick may have been used / taped by someone else. The signature appearing on the stick is indeed Hasek's.[/red]
