Amazing vintage Canucks jersey from the old Western Hockey League is the style that was worn around the 1969 season just before Vancouver made the jump to the NHL. With “Canucks” arched across the front echoed today in the “Vancouver” spelled out across the front of the modern team’s jerseys, this great #12 WHL Canucks beauty shows amazing game wear, including a pair of team repairs on the right sleeve and another sewing fix on the left front. Our research has shows that #12 could have been worn during that period by NHLers Bryan Hextall or Rene Robert. The jersey’s “Size 46” flag tag in the neck is frayed on the bottom and the jersey is very nicely preserved overall, with the heat-pressed blue vinyl numbers on the front and sleeves in great shape and the letters on the front and numbers on the back displaying very minimal cracking. This fabulous WHL Canucks jersey is bound to intrigue minor pro and Vancouver jersey collectors. [red] Addendum; Cleland “Keke“ Mortson wore # 12 for 55 games for the Vancouver Canucks in the 1969-70 season. Rene Robert did wear #12 for 5 games this season but very early in the season before he went to the Rochester Americans where he played 49 games in 69-70. [/red]
