Though the Nordiques struggled for most of Joe Sakic's tenure, he quickly established himself as an offensive threat. He passed the 100 point mark in his second season and would continue to score at a blistering pace through the 1990s. Offered is Sakic's game-worn blue knit by CCM worn on road trips during the 1989-90 campaign. The shirt, tagged in the collar by Maska, also displays a "86 04" born-on label, indicating it was pulled out of mothballs to be worn in a later season. A crudely-fashioned captain's "C" rests up on the left breast and has been affixed to the shirt over the remnants of the former letter "A". The jersey is conclusively photo-matched to two different collector cards showing the "C" with the "A" underneath. Digital images of the match will be included and forwarded to the winning bidder. Wear is moderate to heavy with loads of stick marks and scuffs, especially visible in the white accents of the uniform. Everything, excepting the sewn-on crest, is screened and the expected flaking of the appliqu? is not excessive. An early and significant uniform from a prolific goal scorer and consummate team leader.
