Spectacular specimen worn by Toronto Maple Leafs leader David Keon during the late 1960s. This brilliant blue durene knit dates back to about 1967-68 to 1969-70 around the time the league had doubled to a dozen franchises. Keon won four Stanley Cups with the Leafs, playing on the Cup-winning teams of 1961?62, 1962?63, 1963?64, and 1966?67. He played professionally from 1960 to 1982, including 15 seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1986. This highly sought-after style has the number "14" on the back in single-layer tackle twill and smaller versions of the number rest at each upper arm. Of note is evidence of the removal of a letter up on the left breast, as Keon wore the letter starting in 1967-68 and was named captain for the 1969-70 season. A size 44 fly tag hangs in the neck and that classic tie-neck collar still holds the original lace. The General Athletic tag is there in the tail and the team's familiar crest with embroidered blue lettering sits square on the chest. Game use includes numerous board burns and scuffs at the elbows with a dozen or so unrepaired holes, nothing large or unsightly. An amazing jersey from a memorable era in Maple Leafs hockey history.
