Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Rogatien Vachon has signed his photo-matched Boston Bruins game-worn cage and helmet mask combination. The Bruins logo decal sticker and the #1 in black marker on a wide band of white cloth tape below it on the back of the white Cooper SK 600 helmet have been positively matched to an action photo of Vachon tending goal for the Bruins during the 1981-82 season. Rogie wore #1 during his two seasons with Boston in the early 1980s though he has added the number "30" he had retired by the L.A. Kings to his black marker signature on the left side of the helmet. Vachon's painted 6" x 5 1/2" plastic throat protector remains laced to the bottom of the helmet's Cooper HM 30 "cat's-eye" cage which still has its padded chinstrap. Red paint transfer on the back of the helmet from the goalposts is among the great game wear to report on this photo-matched cage from Rogatien Vachon's personal collection which comes with his signed LOA.
