Representing a career that spanned three decades and included 20 NHL seasons, this gold memento was presented to Norman V. Alexander Ullman upon his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982. A durable, consistent performer with the Detroit Red Wings, with whom he joined as a 20-year old in 1955, and the Toronto Maple Leafs, with whom he spent his last 7-1/2 NHL seasons, the Edmonton native's 490 goals and 739 assists ranked him in the all-time top ten in those departments when he retired. He had (16) 20-or-more-goal seasons including 12 in a row (1957-69) and led the NHL in goals with a career-high 42 in '64-65. Ullman was nicknamed the Quiet Man by the media because he shunned the limelight but still was noticed enough to play in a highly impressive 11 NHL All-Star games. Punch Imlach, who coached Norm in Toronto, is quoted as having said "The best centre who ever played for me" when referring to the great two-way forward. Ullman was paid his due in 1982 as he joined hockey's immortals in the Hall of Fame. This classic Hall of Fame gold ring includes the year and "N. Ullman" engraved on the interior of the band, while the Hall's original logo is encircled by a black stone on the front. Size 8 one-of-a-kind ring is in 14-karat gold, exhibits moderate wear and will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Mr. Ullman.
