The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Early protective gear to be worn by those foolish enough to stand in front of flying frozen pucks. This comprehensive collection will dress up your display mannequin nicely! Firstly, a well-worn pair of heavy leather Bauer Probuilt goal skates that look to be from the Fifties. Next, three catching gloves: a smaller sized Cooper Weeks GM7, a D&R HT65 and another Cooper Weeks, this one a GM10 model. Also included, a very nice matched set of catcher and blocker from D&R. The blocker is an SM5 and the glove is an S5. Four old masks are here including a brown Winwell, a cheap plastic “Jason” style mask, an old Tony Esposito-style Mylec and a painted plastic full face design with attached back plate. Also in the group is the vintage cotton and leather set of shoulder and arm pads and rounding out the collection is a beautifully-boxed Louch goalie mask or “shatter-proof face protector” that appears unused and has been preserved in outstanding condition with original box and instructions. Nice condition on the collection overall.
