Hockey Memorabilia Auction - Spring 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/10/2008
Bold coloring on Eddie Shore's rookie from the 1933 O-Pee-Chee offering. If Howie Morenz was the Babe Ruth of hockey, Shore was most certainly the Lou Gehrig in terms of talent. One of the greatest ever to play his position in any era , his end-to-end rushes became every bit as famous as his crushing body checks and nasty disposition , and no defenceman has ever matched Shore's four Hart Trophy wins. His 1933-issued rookie card, while slightly off-centered, has been carefully examined by PSA's expert staffers and sealed along with a well-deserved grade of PSA 6. The second highest graded Shore Rookie by PSA out of 24. HOF 1947.
