Fabulous and seldom offered first year Houston Aeros durene jersey is a goalie shirt to boot, donned by third stringer Bill Hughes who got into three games with the Aeros during the WHA’s historic inaugural campaign. Everything is sewn-on in nice tackle twill, including “B. Hughes” in individual letters (no nameplate). A shriveled up “size 50” tag is in the neck while a black tag in the inner left hip region reads “Custom Tailored by The General - Greenville, Ohio.” Several blood stains are on the front where a half-inch hole was not repaired. A scrape at the left elbow, some light blood stains on the right sleeve, a few small holes on the lower back and a split at the base of the neckline are also to mention. An LOA from The Spirit of the Game’s Rich Ellis will accompany this early WHA treasure.
