Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - October 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/23/2007
Winger Pat Hughes contributed three straight 24-or-more-goal seasons
to the Oilers’ cause in the 1980s and got to drink from the Stanley
Cup when the Oilers claimed their first title in 1984, ending the
Islanders’ reign. Pat’s blue mesh Oilers sweater has a Nike (size L)
tag in the neck and can be matched to a photo of him with the Cup in
’84. Five rather sizeable team repairs and red paint transfer on
each sleeve, along with a few stick marks on the front and back
highlight the game use, with “Hughes” sewn across a long nameplate
and a piece of pant suspenders attached to a blue nylon loop to form
the fight strap also to mention. Terrific jersey from a championship
season will come with documentation from the MeiGray Group.
