Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007

A joy to hold and behold is this terrific durene Red Wings jersey with an Olympic Sporting Goods tag in the neck, where a rolled-up “size 46” tag also appears. With a well-laundered and faded “General” tag in the inner left hip region, the number 21 jersey is in outstanding condition with game use including a few light slashes and burns on the front and sleeves, along with interior pilling. Tough to zero in on who wore this late-1960s style, but guys who donned “21” briefly in ’68-69 and ’69-70 were Jim Watson, Gerry Hart and Mike McMahon, with Billy Dea wearing it for 70 games in ’69-70.
