Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
One of Chicago’s all-time most beloved hockey heroes, Stan Mikita is depicted here in a wonderful painting by Robert Orsimarsi. Watercolor masterpiece was published in a Beckett hockey magazine in 1993 and captures the Hall of Fame center in action, wearing his famous number 21 Hawks jersey. Small in stature but big in heart and talent, Mikita played his entire 21-year NHL career with Chicago, leading the league in scoring four times while twice being named the NHL’s most valuable player. Painting itself measures approximately 12” by 16”, is matted in Hawks’ colors and features a big flowing black marker Mikita autograph. A perfect tribute to the 541-goal scorer to display proudly.
