Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
For lovers of art and hockey legends comes this pair of one-of-a-kind tributes to Eddie Shore. A fantastic pencil drawing of Boston’s famous number 2 is signed by artist John Preston and includes “Eddie Shore – Co-winner of the ’38-39 Gallery God Award.” Measuring 12” by 16”, it is joined by a piece (12” x 13”) by Bob Coyne which appeared along with three other Shore works of art in a program/menu from a “Complimentary Dinner to Eddie Shore”, held at Boston’s Copley Plaza Hotel on March 6th, 1933. Both works on sturdy artist boards have been preserved in outstanding condition and the eight-page EX program is also present, along with letters signed by Eddie Shore’s son stating that the pieces once belonged to his dad.
