The ultimate Stanley Cup victor, Jean Beliveau earned an impressive ten championships as a player, with an additional seven Cup wins as an executive with the Montreal Canadiens. Arguably the greatest team ever assembled setting an NHL record 132-points, the Canadiens would lose a mere eight contests during the 1976-77 regular season, with the Boston Bruins handily defeated four-straight in the finals to allow the Habs to secure their second of four consecutive championships. Standing a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base with brown felt underside and affixed “Boffey” sticker, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved beneath the Canadiens executives (Jean is listed as “V.P. & D.C.R.”), with “Club de Hockey Canadien” and “1976-77” engraved above. Produced in the late-1990s/early-2000s by Boffey at Jean’s request to be presented to a family member, an LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
The trophy displays beautifully, and we should note it was lightly cleaned to remove a thin surface layer of dust and oxidation, with remnants still visible within small areas and along some edges. There is also a bit of wear along the bowl’s rim, with no obtrusive dents visible whatsoever.
