Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Chosen by Los Angeles as the 7th overall pick in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, goalie Jamie Storr spent parts of 9 seasons in California, before later stints in the AHL and DEL. This mask was worn by the Brampton native during his rookie season of 1994-95 with LA, and it’s been photo-matched. Attractively designed in Kings colours of white, silver and black with all padding and strapping intact, an Egyptian pharaoh dominates the top portion over the forehead, with an anhk symbol across the chin section. “Storzie” appears along the bottom of the back headpiece, while a sticker from custom mask maker Ed Cubberly remains affixed to the inner left side, with Cubberly’s trademark C-shaped ear slots present. A number of chips, marks and abrasions are present illustrating great use, with examples over the top, chin, forehead, headpiece and along edges. There is also some rusting to the screws that secure the facemask.
We should note that this mask was also worn by Storr while with the OHL’s Owen Sound Platters, also in 1994-95. 10 numeric images showing Storr wearing this mask will be included, along with a pair of cards that provided the photo-matches. Storr’s 1994-95 Leaf Phenoms card (#1) along with his 1994-95 OPC Premier card (#437) have both been matched to the diagonal chip below the nose of the pharaoh. A solid black bag designed for the mask is also included, with “4orte” appearing in white on each side.
