Jacques Villeneuve wore this custom Bell K1 helmet during the Brazilian GP at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 29-31, 2002. Jacques qualified his BAR Lucky Strike Honda on the inside of the 8th row in 15th place and finished 10th after losing an engine after 68 laps.
The helmet is painted in Jacques traditional colors and has been tagged on the back by Bell Racing Europe “2002-04” and a Brazilian flag decal as also been added to signify the helmet was used during the 2002 Brazilian Grand Prix. As per all of Jacques’ helmets the vents have been taped -off, extra eye-port foam has been added and the drink tube has been drilled out (taped-off) and the full race radio remains intact. Villeneuve has applied his signature to the visor.
The helmet shows very nice wear and Jacques has added some tape to the upper eye port which extends out onto the forehead of the helmet. As he wore the helmet on track dirt and grime built up on the leading edge of the tape and this can be photo-matched to a few images taken during the Brazilian GP weekend.
Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 2002-04” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
