Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Backstopping the Toronto Maple Leafs throughout their best season in over a quarter-century, Felix Potvin and the blue and white would finish third overall in the Western Conference at the conclusion of the 1993-94 campaign, and advance past Chicago and San Jose before losing to the Vancouver Canucks in six games. Originating from that memorable season and hailing from his personal collection, we have a stick used by the star netminder in 1993-94 that has been multi-signed by Leafs players. A KOHO Revolution model with “F Potvin” stamped, there is a date code of “21 Avr 1994” on the upper shaft, with the original black tape over the blade and faded blue cloth wrap over white on the handle. 8 have signed the front side paddle in mixed inks including silver, with the majority of the especially thin signatures somewhat camouflaged against the dark background. A signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Exhibiting great game-use, the handle is customized with a grooved surface, with wear to the taped section of blade and lower paddle. There is also some minor dirt staining. Signers include Damian Rhodes, Mark Osborne, Ken Baumgartner, Yanic Perreault and a few others.
