Wow! This Boston Bruins 1928-29 Stanley Cup champions wool pullover sweater is an absolutely gorgeous and extremely rare find. This amazing treasure was worn by the reigning Stanley Cup champion Bruins during their exceptional 1929-30 season, when Boston went 38-5-1 for an NHL record .875 winning percentage that stands to this day. Not a game jersey, this thick and heavy wool sweater was worn by pride by Bruins players to celebrate the team’s first Stanley Cup title. It is originally believed to have been obtained from the collection of left wing Harry Connor, who was reacquired by the Bruins in a January 1930 trade with Ottawa. The spectacular felt, cotton and embroidery team patch sewn on the front just below the collar is an intricate creation that features the team name and logo with a “World’s Champions – 1928-29” banner across the bottom. Absolutely stunning! Bruins colors are featured on the knit collar, cuffs, hem and both front pockets. The original “Horace Partridge Co. Boston Cleveland” tagging remains in wonderful condition inside the hem at the right hip. Magnificently preserved with just a few light stains and a hole inside the bottom of the right pocket. This museum-worthy Bruins heirloom comes with an LOA. Please take note that this lot may be subject to a silent reserve.
