Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers defended their Stanley Cup title in the spring of 1985 with a five-game series win over Philadelphia in the final. Presented, we have a nicely preserved 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup trophy. Gretzky, who won the Conn Smythe, heads up as captain on the three columns of player names engraved on the barrel that include fellow HOFers Messier, Coffey, Fuhr, Kurri and Anderson. The other Oilers players whose names are engraved on this 1984-85 Stanley Cup trophy are Carroll, Fogolin, Gregg, Huddy, Hughes, Hunter, Jackson, Krushelnyski, Lindstrom, Lowe, Lumley, McClelland, Melnyk, Moog, Napier, Pouzar, Semenko and Tikkanen. In fabulous condition, with just a few tiny blemishes present, this 13” keepsake will nicely augment any Stanley Cup display.
This unawarded example, produced by Boffey, is identical to the ones awarded to each member of the victorious Edmonton Oilers by the National Hockey League in a tradition dating back to 1958. Rich brown felt covers the bottom of the black wood base.
