Idolizing Bobby Orr throughout his youth, Chris Nilan would finally get his dream and suit up for his hometown Boston Bruins in 1990, spending a pair of seasons in Beantown, where he would score 25 points and log over 400 PIM. We have a photo-matched Bruins jersey worn by the 1986 Stanley Cup champion during his first season in Massachusetts, in 1990-91, where he appeared in 41 games. With a worn Maska label affixed to the collar and embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem, the sweater measures-out to approx a size 54. Styled with the iconic spoked-B team crest fully administered in tackle twill, “30” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with alternate crests over each shoulder.
A few marks are present over the team crest, with board burns visible over the lower left sleeve and right cuff. There is a pair of team repairs on the lower front, and a single example along with two small holes over the right elbow. The center-collar has also been torn and repaired. Getty Image #101013891 has been matched to the partially washed out black marks on the upper section of the "30" over the left sleeve, while Getty Image #101013920 has been matched to the diagonal black mark within the "0" of "30" over the reverse.
