One of the Blues’ greatest captains, Brian Sutter wore this gamer with his now-retired No. 11 during the 1986-87 season. Sutter, who represented St. Louis in three 1980s All-Star Games, was limited to 14 games in 1986-87. Maska Ultrafil and an "86 07" born-on July ’86 date tag sit in the collar of Sutter’s game-worn jersey, which lots of stains with a mostly cream/beige color throughout rather than its original white. The captain’s C on the left breast and team crest on the front are heat-pressed vinyl as are the numbers, which are missing a bit of the blue and yellow vinyl on the back. As with most St. Louis jerseys from that season, the nameplate was most likely removed and reattached.
Brian Sutter was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round (20th overall) in the 1976 NHL Entry Draft. He played in the All-Star Game in 1982, 1983 and 1985. He was captain of the Blues for the last nine years of his career until 1988, when a nagging back injury forced him into retirement. His No. 11 jersey was retired by the Blues on December 30, 1988.
Game wear includes marks on the front and back of the jersey and blue paint transfer and board burns on the sleeves.
