Drafted 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1986 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Zarley Zalapski would play eleven years in the NHL, siting up for Pittsburgh, Hartford, Calgary, Montreal and Philadelphia during that time. Registering a total of 384 points during his time in the league and playing in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is this Penguins jersey worn by Zalapski during the 1989-90 season. Made by CCM, a washed out and torn in half Maska Ultrafil tag is affixed to the inner collar which also displays Zalapski's number "33" in faded black marker ink. Accented over the reverse hem with an embroidered CCM logo, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Penguin team crest that features embroidered details throughout while the all-important 1990 NHL All-Star Game patch that was worn by the host Penguins throughout the season is placed over the left shoulder. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Zalapski's number "33" in dual layer black-over-white tackle twill numerals, "Zalapski" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting good game-wear, stick marks are seen over the front, reverse and both sleeves of the shirt while board burns are present over the reverse and both sleeves as well. Showing additional battle scars via team repairs that total twelve (12) by our count over the front and both sleeves, a heavy board paint transfer mark is observed over the second "3" on the right sleeve and an unrepaired cut is found near the left elbow. Sporting some spot stains throughout the piece as well, heavy salting and rusting exists in the snaps of the fight strap on the interior and pilling is felt around the interior.
