Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Affectionately referred to as “The Roadrunner” due to his diminutive stature and blazing speed, Yvan Cournoyer would play his entire career in Montreal, spending parts of 16 seasons in a Habs sweater which included being a member of 10 Stanley Cup championships. We have a stick used by the superstar during the mid-1970s. A Canadian Custom Pro model, “12 Y. Cournoyer” appears stamped over the upper shaft, with “12” also handwritten beneath. Sporting the original black tape over the blade and factory-shaved knob, the striping accent no longer remains, with the blade featuring a unique-style curve we’ve seen on other Cournoyer specimens, with the blade slightly bending at the heel, as opposed to gradually “curving”. Nice use is exhibited, with some cracking along the top edge of the blade along with a few loose tape strands.
