Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

Recognized as one of the four majors which sanction championship boxing bouts, the World Boxing Council was established with 11 countries in 1963, with the organization now boasting 161 current member-countries. We have a gorgeous WBC World Champion boxing belt from circa early-2000s, originating from a former high-ranking WBC executive. With finished green leather, the belt feature’s a gorgeous affixed gold-coloured centerpiece with generic fighter along with each member-country represented, with “World Champion” above, and “WBC” below. Each WBC world-title belt also has medallions attached on each side, represented here by both Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali, with additional cameos on each end of Mike Tyson, with this example similar to the belt the former champ would have received. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
Produced by Schedoni of Italy with their stamp on the reverse of the belt near the buckle, “World Champion” has also been branded into the belt behind the centerpiece, with spaces left that have remained blank for both weight class along with the champion’s name, with “WBC President Jose Sulaiman Ch.” branded below along with a facsimile signature. There is some minor surface wear present, with just a few random marks to the still-supple green leather belt.
