Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
A two-time All-Star with the Dodgers, centerfielder Willie Davis wore this 1974 Expos gamer while hitting .295 with 12 homers, 89 RBIs and 25 stolen bases. Davis also hit 27 doubles and nine triples in his only season patrolling “champ centre” in “Parc Jarry” after he was acquired by Montreal in an offseason trade with LA for closer Mike Marshall. Willie’s No. 1 Expos jersey has Rawlings size 42 tagging in the back of the neck and a “Set 1 #8P 1974” season set flag tag on the bottom of the right front tail. Game wear includes marks and staining on the top of both shoulders.
The red, white and blue stripes are missing, except for a small swatch, from the right sleeve cuff that has let go of its stitching. There are various reddish-brown stains throughout the jersey, and a small hole on the back of the upper right sleeve.
