Only the second season he toppled the remarkable benchmark of 200 points, 1983-84 was especially noteworthy for Wayne Gretzky and his Edmonton Oilers as this would be the season they dethroned the juggernaut Islanders, setting their own dynasty into motion. We have a signed stick used by the legendary star during the 1983-84 season, and it comes with the added provenance of being one of the countless Gretzky treasures that originate from the incomparable holdings of collector extraordinaire Shawn Chaulk. A preferred Titan TPM2020 model in familiar white with red accents, “W. Gretzky” is stamped-on beneath handwritten “99”, with a date code along the underside of “23 Fev 1984”. “WG-1” has also been written on the underside of the heel. An LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
The stick retains its white tape on the handle/knob, with the blade tape removed so that Wayne could add a dedicated signature across the blade in blue marker that reads “To Red (Storey) Health and Happiness – Your Friend Wayne Gretzky”. Light but solid use is visible on the important lumber, with marks to the lower shaft, especially along edges.
