Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Featuring two of the only NHL teams to produce Stanley Cup dynasties, the Montreal Canadiens took on and defeated the Edmonton Oilers, 4-3, at the 2003 Heritage Classic played at Commonwealth Stadium, on Nov 22, 2003. In addition to seeing an outdoor hockey game between the Oilers and the Canadiens, the wind-chilled crowd of 57,167 were treated to an exhibition game pitting the Habs' legendary alumni against an all-star squad of Oilers greats headed by Wayne Gretzky. The Great One has signed this beautiful 14” x 20” Heritage Classic photo in blue marker over the bottom left with no issues, and it has been double-matted and framed to full dimensions of approx 23” x 30 ½”. A hologram from WGA has been affixed, and we should note heavy wear including dings and marks to the frame.
