Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
While Wayne Gretzky’s time in Manhattan was short, seeing action in only 3 seasons, the East Coast franchise will forever be linked with The Great One as his last NHL game was played while wearing a Rangers uniform. We have a pair of limited-edition gloves commemorating Wayne’s last game in 1999, and they’ve been signed by the iconic superstar. Hespeler models in Rangers’ red, white and blue, each glove has “99” screened-on along the back of the fingers, with “28/99” handwritten over the left thumb, illustrating the edition is limited. Gretzky has signed in silver paint pen across the wrist guard of the left glove, adding the date of his last game, “4 18 99”. With the signature flawless, a WGA hologram with loose corner has been affixed near the signature, with a matching COA to accompany.
The gloves themselves, custom made to the exact specifications as the pair wore by Wayne in his last game, remain in gorgeous condition with absolutely no issues.
