Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Wayne Gretzky grew up idolizing Gordie Howe, and in the Great One’s first NHL All-Star Game in 1980 he got to face off against Mr. Hockey, who made his ASG swan song in Detroit. This spectacular framed display features a limited-edition signed Gretzky 1980 NHL All-Star Game Campbell Conference jersey by Mitchell & Ness. Gretz placed a silver paint pen autograph in the middle of the left “9” on the back, which has “5/299” limited-edition notation and a WGA hologram sticker affixed to the bottom. The huge frame also displays an 8x10 photo of Gretzky in action for the Oilers Alumni team at the 2003 Heritage Classic in Edmonton and a “Wayne Gretzky, 1980 NHL All Star Game” plaque. Comes with a WGA COA.
