Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
One of the more widely-licensed comic book characters, Batman first appeared on newsstands in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, with items marketed-after the caped crusader not far behind. We have an example from the 1970s, with a battery-operated tin Batmobile with its original box. At approx 10” in length and constructed of tin and plastic with rubber wheels, wonderful lithographed graphics remain in gorgeous condition, with the toy fully operational including the flashing siren light. There is wear present to the front and reverse bumpers, along with the small metal section encompassing the flame throwers. The original 10” x 4” x 3 ½” box exhibits handling wear with a few creases.
