This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A considerable bounty, we have a wonderful offering of vintage Montreal Canadiens items that total over 100, ranging from the 1950s to 1970s. Highlighted by cardboard team photo advertising displays from both 1957-58 and 1959-60, 24 1956-1964 Molson team pics, an RPPC of Buddy O’Connor from 1940 and a Quebec Aces program signed by Doug Harvey and others, we also have large action photos from the 1970s (8) along with team photos cut from calendars (16) between 1952-53 and 1970-71. There are also media photos, 1970s postcards (14), a Jacques Laperriere signed 1960s postcard, a Molson Beliveau hockey book, 13 1950s Star Weekly and La Patrie newspaper photos, a large 1970s promo folder with pics, a premium Maurice Richard photo that’s been coloured, a Richard 1960-61 York photo, a Richard 1940s postcard, 1970s Viceroy game puck and more!
The 1957-58 advertising display is 20” x 25 ½” with advertising from Molson, with heavy wear including a torn lower right corner, damaged upper left corner and associated heavy wear with toning, staining, spotting and creasing to both the front and reverse. The 1959-60 display is roughly 19 ½” x 19 ½” and appears to be trimmed on three sides, with pinholes and spotting along with corner, edge and surface wear. The Aces program is in low technical grade with a wonderful Harvey ballpoint signature gracing the cover along with additional autographs from Floyd Curry and Jean Gauthier. The Richard coloured premium photo is 7” x 9 ½” and mounted to a scrapbook page with moderate wear, while the York photo and 1940s postcard both exhibit heavy creasing. The majority of the remaining photos, premiums and postcards remain in varying condition, with most in pleasing mid-grade or better.
