Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
One of the harder vintage hockey items to locate – especially quality examples – despite their constant use throughout the 20th century, earlier pucks from well known makers are exceedingly hard to come by, making the offered lot all the more desirable. We have a pair of vintage pucks, with each manufactured by prominent maker Tyer. First, believed to have been used by the AHL in 1943-44, we have an example with an off-white rubberized Tyer logo, along with “Official” stamped on the side and sharp edges. The second puck has a similar logo in light grey with “Tyer Official”, instead of just “Tyer”. The first example exhibits edge wear with a clean logo, while the second puck shows heavier use, with cuts, scrapes and small gouges, especially along edges.
