Winners of their respective divisions in 1933-34, the Toronto Maple Leafs concluded the season atop the league, while the Detroit Red Wings advanced to the Stanley Cup finals. A few weeks after the playoffs ended, both clubs took part in a Western Canada NHL Exhibition Tour. This included playing exhibition matches in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Trail. Dated "April 28, 1934", we offer a pair of 5 3/4" x 8 1/4" sheets team-signed by the 1933-34 Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. The first page has the date written by Herbie Lewis along with his signature, followed by Frank Selke, George Hainsworth, Frank King Clancy (the bottom of the "G" of "George" intersects with the "F" of Frank"), and Eddie Wiseman, with handwritten text at the bottom of the page stating "Ice Hockey Team - The Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs Aboard the Canadian Pacific Railway Between Vancouver and Banff". The second page sports 15 signature in a vertical row. Top to bottom, the signatures include Dick Irvin, Jack Adams, Charlie Sands, Reg Hamilton, Ken Doraty, Larry Aurie, Johnny Sorrell, Charlie Conacher, Ebbie Goodfellow, Busher Jackson, Buzz Boll, Happy Day, Andy Blair, Red Horner and Baldy Cotton. The signatures have all been executed in black fountain pen, and remain dark and bold. This is a great chance to add a number of tough HOFers to your signature collection.
