Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

In 1969-70, the Toronto Maple Leafs were on a path down the NHL’s standings following a decade of prosperity. This piece featuring 17 signatures dates from that season and features some of the greatest names in franchise history. One can envision a young autograph hound clutching this piece of paper to get black ballpoint signatures from seven Hall of Fame members Dave Keon, Norm Ullman, and the often tough-to-get George Armstrong along with those no longer with us in King Clancy (d-1986), Tim Horton (d-1974), Pat Quinn (d-2014), and Johnny Bower (d-2018). Overall, the 8.5” x 11” sheet presents nicely despite a fold across the middle. The taped-on name and logo also has its charms as the original owner looked to remember which club they received autographs from.
Other signatures included in this piece are Mike Walton, Paul Henderson, Floyd Smith, Jim Harrison, Ron Ward, Marv Edwards, Chris Evans, Jim McKenny, and Mike Pelyk. One of the hidden gems on the piece is Bruce Gamble's autograph as the goaltender passed away in 1982.
