Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Well stocked with veteran talent, the Stanley Cup winning Toronto Maple Leafs had an aggregate team age of 31 in 1967, something that is unlikely to ever occur again. This absolutely beautiful mounted and signed photo celebrates that victory, which aptly took place while a hockey-centric nation commemorated its confederacy. At 16” x 20”, the cream-coloured photo has been covered in plexiglass and mounted to a wooden display, with final dimensions of 18” x 24”. 19 members of that historic line-up have signed the photo in silver sharpie, with the signatures literally jumping off the dark muted background. Highlights include Mahovlich, Bower, Stanley, Armstrong, Keon and Red Kelly.
In gorgeous overall condition, a silver plaque beneath states “1967 Stanley Cup Champions Silver Anniversary”, divulging its production took place on the 25th anniversary. Other signers include Baun, Pronovost, Shack, Pappin, Conacher, et al. Hand numbered 36/967, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany this highly desirable signed display that celebrates the Leafs last Stanley Cup victory.
