Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Representing the first and second World Series won north of the American border thus far, we have a group of memorabilia from the 1992 and 1993 World Champion Toronto Blue Jays. Included are three signed balls, two tickets including a signed example, authentic SkyDome turf, a small plaque, a Blue Jays patch and a pair of replica rings. First off we have team-signed balls from both years. Both official World Series Rawlings balls, the 1992 example features 17 ballpoint signatures including Cone, Alomar, Gruber, Maldonado, White, Carter and others. The 1993 ball features 31 ballpoint autographs including Cisco, Hentgen, Carter, Olerud, Sprague, White, Bailor and others.
The third ball in the group is a Blue Jays souvenir example from the late-1970’s signed by 8 including Bob Bailor, Otto Velez, Jim Clancy and others. The two World Series balls remain in excellent condition with solid and clean signatures, while the souvenir example exhibits toning and some fading to the signatures. Next we have a pair of tickets, both from game six of the 1993 World Series. One is a full ticket that remains in high grade, along with a stub that’s been signed by Gary Carter in blue marker. We also have a 1992 replica ring for Roberto Alomar, and a 1993 replica ring for Gary Carter, and they both remain in gorgeous condition. Lastly, we have a small metal plaque with full colour 1992 and 1993 World Series logos, along with the logo for the MLB, a small sealed tin with authentic SkyDome turf from the ’93 series, and a 1993 World Series patch.
